We are at 8231 S County Road 39 Plant City, and the easiest way to find us is to use Google Maps and search Hidden Meadow Farms Plant City and that will bring you right to our red entry gate.
All riders start with a 1/2 hour assessment lesson to see where they are, what horse would be a good fit for them, etc. The assessment lesson and half hour lessons are $50. If/when the rider is ready for hour lessons, those are $70. We offer lessons Tuesday thru Friday afternoons beginning at 4pm until we are done and weekends starting at 9am until we are done. Appointments are required. All prices are as of 7/21/2023 and subject to change. Last minute/same day cancellations incur a $25 fee.
No, you do not need to own your own horse, or have any desire to! All you need to get started are long pants, even leggings and lace up shoes. We have helmets and all other equipment here.
Typically we take riders starting at age 7, but you know your child best, and if you think they have great body awareness and attention, we will always do an assessment to see if we think our program is a good fit for your rider.
We do have one more summer camp this year. It is open to only show riders, or riders with intent to show. More info can be found under the Events tab.
We do offer partial leases on some of our horses. Riders are required to do the assessment lesson as well as take weekly hour lessons during their lease. Lessons and some show fees are discounted for riders during their lease. 7/21/2023 Pricing for partial leases is $450/four weeks and lessons are discounted $10, show trainer fees are discounted $15.
We are pleased to announce a new partial lease option for our more advanced riders to gain more knowledge and riding strategies. Our Lease Pass is $525/4 weeks and includes one 1 hour lesson on the riders show mount, and two 1 hour lessons on anything found under the "Work" section of the board. These two additional rides would be scheduled like lessons but would have more flexibility than a traditional partial lease for one specific horse, and would include the required one lesson a week. Show fee discounts would apply for the Lease Pass option.
We are currently not accepting non lessoning boarders.
We offer full board at a rate of $600/mos as of 7/21/2023 for riders that are in our lesson program. This includes our Triumph Professional or ProElite Performance feed, alfalfa hay, stall access with shavings, muck, fan, amenity access.
We do not offer partial or pasture board.
No. We do not. We know if you search that in Google, Hidden Meadow Farms (HMF), as well as a lot of other farms come up. But no, that is not something we offer.
We have 2 riding arenas; our smaller arena has sand footing, is lit for riding in the evening and boasts sprinklers and a misting system. Our larger arena offers shade, grass footing, a hybrid Hunter/Jumper style course and some XC style jumps. We do have a bathroom, shaded viewing areas with seating in both arenas, as well as ample parking. We also have designated space for owned tack in the tack room, tack trunk spaces, a refrigerator/freezer for drinks and water on hand at all times for riders and supporters. We do allow haul in for lessons.
We accept cash, Venmo and Zelle.
For the Fall 2023 Show Series, we will be at Sumter Equestrian Center. Show fees to the show vary depending on number of riders on the same horse for things such as stall, body clipping and hauling. Set prices are (current 7/2023) classes $15 or $20ea (typically 6-8 classes for a one day show rider), office fee $15 w/pre entry discount, stall $60 to be split, trainer fees $80/day, hauling $75 for horses with multiple riders, average for shared things $15 (includes tack stall, Trainer's RV) for the weekend. Just an idea: Beginner riders x-rails and under: avg show total is $360. Intermediate Riders (Short/Long Stirrup one show day): $405. 2 day riders, no jumpers: $515. 2day riders with Jumpers: $580. From Intermediate and up, there is at least one class where $$ can be won for top 6 riders.
Especially for little ones, before purchasing boots or breeches, ask at the farm if the HMF closet has any recycled clothing from riders! Another great option is https://www.georginabloomberg.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Request-Form-2pg-GB-site-32.pdf at The Rider's Closet which is an opportunity to offset the expense of this sports clothing budget. This is a fabulous program that has helped many HMF riders start out with schooling/lesson attire, or with beginning show attire. For help with the specifics of what to ask for, ask us!
If you have questions about the opportunities available in our programs, feel free to send us a message. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
